Frequently Asked Questions

1) What tutoring plans do you have?
We offer three tutoring plans: a) Live one-to-one tutoring, b) Online Homework Help and c) Email Help.

a) Live one-on-one tutoring: The student interacts with the teacher using a digital writing pad, an electronic whiteboard and a headphone. The student and the teacher can work out homework problems on the whiteboard while simultaneously discussing via the headphone.

b) Homework Help: If you are struggling with certain mathematical concepts, we offer Live Help with which you can connect to one of our tutors for a 20 minute chat session. Using our Whiteboard software (which is free to download) our tutor will provide you with live one-on-one instruction. This type of help is available on pre-schedule basis. Call us toll free 1-800-622-1418 to arrange a session.

c) Email Help: If you are stuck on a problem, simply login and post the question. We will respond immediately (usually within 24 hours) with a full solution including tips so that you will be able to answer similar type problems on your own.

2) What grade levels do you tutor?
We can help all students in grades 4 through college.

3) How often does the Student meet with the Tutor?
Typically, the tutor meets with the student once or twice a week for one to two hours each session. Depending on whether the student has catch-up work, late assignments, motivational concerns, or learning challenges, the recommended frequency may be higher. Ultimately, the frequency is determined by the parents.

4) What if my chidd doesn’t like the tutor?
In our initial consultation, we will try to learn about your child’s personality and learning style. We will use that information to select a tutor we believe will be a good match both in skills and personality. Our tutors make every effort to develop a positive, constructive relationship with the student, but if you do not think the tutor is a good match, Click2Tutor will assign another tutor to work with your child.

5) Do you provide services to students with Special Needs or Learning Disabilities such as ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia or others?
Yes. Click2Tutor knows that children with learning disabilities have special needs when it comes to instruction. Many of our tutors have Special Education degrees, certification and/or experience working with the most common learning disabilities. Where appropriate, our tutors will be able to work with your school’s teachers and counselors on your child’s IEP (Individual Education Plan). We have tutors experienced in:

  • ADD – Attention Deficit Disorder
  • ADHD – Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Dyslexia – Reading Learning Disability
  • Dyscalcula / Dyscalculia – Math Learning Disability
  • While private tutoring is not a silver bullet, it is almost invariably a positive component of an overall program to help your child achieve his or her full potential and overcome the special challenges he or she may face. Please contact us to discuss your child’s specific needs.

    6) Can you provide tutors to families who home school their students?
Yes. Clcik2Tutor can be the perfect resource for parents who home school their children. Many parents are excellent teachers, but may not have expertise in every subject. Click2Tutor is ready to provide tutors who can fill in the gaps and provide support for home schooling parents. We can also help with curriculum choices and ACT/SAT prep.

    7) Do you require long-term contracts?
No. At Click2Tutor we believe that once a student’s or family’s goals are accomplished our mission is complete. You won’t be bound by a long-term contract to continue with our tutoring service. We’ll be here for you if you need us again! And if you do, we know you’ll call us.

    8) What about Summer tutoring? Fall break? Winter break? Spring break? Does Click2Tutor offer tutoring when school is out of session?
Yes. If your schedule allows, continuing with tutoring during school breaks can be very helpful getting your child caught up with or even ahead of their schoolwork.

During the summer break, having a tutor work with your child on subjects they have had difficulty with can start the next school year on the right foot. Research shows that continued instruction through the summer months can have a dramatic impact on academic performance. Ask about our Summer tutoring packages. As always, in home tutoring can be easily scheduled to accommodate vacation schedules and other summer activities.

    9) What happens during the free consultation?
An experienced Click2Tutor Academic Director meets with you and your child to discuss the current challenges facing the student and other factors that may affect the student's potential achievement, as well as any questions or concerns you may have regarding the tutoring process. The free consultation is done via a phone conference.

Based on the information shared in this consultation, the Academic Director assigns a Tutor who has the best match of experience, skills, and personality to achieve success with the individual student.
